The Jam Master Jay Foundation for Youth sponsors programs like:

Cash 4 College Scholarship Fund, a $2 million dollar-a-year project that makes a college education more affordable for our youth by providing $2,000 in college tuition to 1,000 freshman students from across the U.S., a free laptop computer, and a second year of financial support for students who maintain or raise their G.P.A. during their first year in the program.

J-Whip Project, an original and unique tribute to Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell that’s also a one-of-a-kind archive of hip hop music, culture, and history. Launched in February 2004, the interior of a GMC Vandura van, customized with top-of-the-line equipment and auto-detailing, chronicles Jam Master Jay’s life and accomplishments as remembered through the eyes of his family, friends, and colleagues in the music industry, including LL Cool J, Diddy, Kanye West, Kurtis Blow, Mos Def, James Brown, Missy Elliot, DJ Jazzy Jeff, KRS-ONE, and Wyclef. The final stages of customization, which will include a permanent ‘wrap’ featuring photos of Jam Master Jay, are under way. Upon completion of the detailing, the Foundation for Youth will auction the J-Whip on eBay to raise money for our Cash 4 College Scholarship Fund (100% of the auctions proceeds will go to the program).
